The Sarantel Group consists of its main operating company, Sarantel Limited, based in Wellingborough, UK and subsidiaries in New York and Singapore.

Sarantel designs high-performance antennas for portable wireless devices. To date, the company has won over 80 designs in the hand-held navigation, personal and asset tracking, sports and leisure, satellite radio and satellite phones markets.

Sarantel's revolutionary ceramic filtering antennas offer dramatically improved performance over existing antenna designs, resulting in a clearer signal, better range and a 90 per cent reduction in the amount of signal radiation absorbed by the body. Because of their smaller size and higher capabilities, Sarantel's antennas enable the creation of smaller and innovative wireless devices in the GPS, WiMax, Tracking, Satellite radio and satellite phone markets.

Brief history

Sarantel Ltd., the wholly owned subsidiary of Sarantel Group PLC and was formed in March 2000 as a management buyout of technology developed by Dr. Oliver Leisten. The company moved to Wellingborough UK the following year to build a high volume production facility.

The first commercial shipments of innovative GPS antennas began in 2001.
